Hyaluronic acid dermal fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, Teosyal, Stylage, and Belotero can be effectively dissolved using an enzyme known as Hyaluronidase. While this enzyme naturally occurs in our skin, it can be injected in higher concentrations to swiftly eliminate unwanted filler. The process involves mixing the enzyme powder with saline and injecting the resulting solution into the area with the filler. During a Dermal Filler Dissolving treatment, the filler breaks down and vanishes within minutes. However, it might take about 24 hours for the treatment's full effects to become apparent, once any swelling has subsided.

FAQ

  • Will It Work For Me?

We use an enzyme called Hyaluronidase to dissolve hyaluronic acid fillers like Juvederm, Restylane, Teoxane, and Belotero. However, if you have a filler that is not made of hyaluronic acid, like Radiesse, Sculptra, or Ellanse, this treatment won't work. Non-hyaluronic acid fillers can't be dissolved and would need a surgical procedure for removal.

  • Do I Need A Patch-Test?

Before we inject the hyaluronidase enzyme, we do a quick patch test at least 20 minutes in advance. This is to make sure you don't have any immediate allergic reactions that might make it unsafe to use the enzyme. If you don't show any signs of an allergy, like itching, redness, or a raised bump, after 20 minutes, then it's safe to go ahead with the treatment.

  • How Many Sessions Will I Need?

Our goal is to use as little enzyme as possible to get rid of the filler we don't want while keeping the natural hyaluronic acid in your skin. That's why we only use a small amount of the enzyme in each treatment. This might mean you need more than one treatment to completely remove the filler you don't want.

  • Is It Painful?

It can cause some discomfort, but we use numbing cream and injections to help reduce any pain.

  • Will There Be Any Side-Effects?

Like most injections, you might experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising, which could take 2-3 days to go away, and bruises sometimes even longer. It's a good idea not to schedule your treatments right before important commitments. Give yourself at least a two-week buffer between your treatment and any significant social or work events.

  • Who Will Do The Treatment?

Our skilled and experienced clinicians handle all our injectable treatments. You can feel confident that our entire team is dedicated to providing you with top-notch care.

  • What Do I Need To Prepare Beforehand?

Before your treatment, it's a good idea to steer clear of blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen (unless prescribed by your doctor) for three days. And if possible, try to skip alcohol for a day before your treatment. We'll need you to be around for a follow-up afterward, so it's best not to schedule your injectable treatment if you're planning to travel in the next two weeks.
