Understanding the Nasolabial Fold

The nasolabial fold, that distinctive crease starting from the corner of the nose and extending diagonally down to the corner of the mouth, is a hallmark feature of the face. With the passage of time, this fold can become more prominent and form a shadow that can give the face a tired appearance.

Nasolabial Fold Filler Treatment

City Dock Clinic is delighted to introduce a transformative solution for addressing nasolabial folds. Our nasolabial fold filler treatment involves the use of dermal fillers or threads to smooth the fold and reduce the shadow, unveiling a more refreshed and youthful appearance.

When employing dermal fillers, we adopt two key approaches to effectively treat nasolabial folds. The first approach involves lifting drooping cheeks by injecting filler along the cheekbone. This method helps to elevate the weighty skin responsible for forming the nasolabial fold.

The second approach entails injecting dermal filler directly into the nasolabial fold, effectively reducing the fold's depth and instantly creating a smoother appearance in the area.

City Dock Clinic is dedicated to enhancing your smile and overall facial aesthetics. Our nasolabial fold filler treatment is tailored to rejuvenate and revitalise your appearance. Contact us today to schedule a consultation and embark on your journey toward a more youthful and confident you, free from the burden of deep nasolabial folds.

FAQ

  • Will It Work For Me?

Dermal filler treatments work well for replenishing lost volume and accentuating your features. If you're thinking about this treatment, it's advised to chat with one of our experienced clinician for guidance. The good news is, fillers can be used on all skin types.

However, there are situations where we'd advise against fillers. If you're pregnant, breastfeeding, certain health issues, have active acne or an infection in the treatment area, or have had allergies to dermal fillers or similar products in the past, it might not be suitable. We'll assess your suitability for the treatment during your consultation.

  • Do I Need A Patch-Test?

    No.

  • How Many Sessions Will I Need?

You'll often see the best results after one to two sessions. If you need additional treatment, we typically recommend waiting for two weeks to ensure any swelling or bruising has had time to fade.

  • Is It Painful?

The injections are not painful. To make the experience even more soothing, we offer numbing cream, numbing injections, and skin cooling. Moreover, many of our dermal fillers contain anesthetics within the filler itself, ensuring additional pain relief during the process.

  • Will There Be Any Side-Effects?

Like most injections, you might experience some redness, swelling, tenderness, and bruising, which could take 2-3 days to go away, and bruises sometimes even longer. It's a good idea not to schedule your treatments right before important commitments. Give yourself at least a two-week buffer between your treatment and any significant social or work events.

  • Who Will Do The Treatment?

Our skilled and experienced clinicians handle all our injectable treatments. You can feel confident that our entire team is dedicated to providing you with top-notch care.

  • What Do I Need To Prepare Beforehand?

Before your treatment, it's a good idea to steer clear of blood-thinning medications like aspirin or ibuprofen (unless prescribed by your doctor) for three days. And if possible, try to skip alcohol for a day before your treatment. We'll need you to be around for a follow-up afterward, so it's best not to schedule your injectable treatment if you're planning to travel in the next two weeks.

  • Can Filler Be Removed

Dermal fillers like Juvederm, Teosyal, Stylage, Restylane, and Belotero, which are made from hyaluronic acid, can be reversed. This reversal process entails an injection of water containing an enzyme called Hyaluronidase. This enzyme swiftly and painlessly breaks down the filler, restoring your skin to its natural state.

  • How Long Will Result Last?

How long your results last typically varies based on the treated area, the product chosen, and your individual metabolism. In general, most patients find that a follow-up treatment is necessary only once every 9-12 months.
